3 changes in 3 months

Hi

This year I changed a lot of things in my life. But there are three main changes that are the reason I feel I’m working on becoming the better version of myself. I change my diet, yes only have been three months and almost a week working on my new lifestyle (keto diet) but so far is working wonderful. I have lost weight, I feel that my health have been improved since I decided to take more care of myself. The second change is that I stop drinking any type of alcohol drink. Not that I was drinking a lot but here and there like 2 or 3 times at month a beer or a cocktail. So for me wasn’t that complicated and I feel I don’t need it anymore to live a better life. That wasn’t a goal like quitting all but as part of the new diet it is a plus so “two birds kill in one shot”. The third change that I made was to let my real and natural hair breath without any heating tools like (flat-iron, hair dryer and curling iron). I also tried the Curly girl method to improve the quality of my hair curls. It was an amazing experience. Made me my love more my hair, and take a better care of it. I hope to continue with this amazing change because my hair is like part of my roots and a good reminder of it.

In general this 3 things have been the most amazing experience in a long time. I’m going to continue this journey of my new lifestyle that I have been loving.

I’m very proud of myself for taking the first step to make changes into my life.

My goal is to keep going!

Ps: I started to run again!!!!!! &  I added the foam roller into my life!!!

A month without running (life update/ race recap)

Hi!

Around here it may be more than a month without posting.

There’s a reason… (read down below)

3rd 5k of the year RECAP:

My third 5k running event was this past month. November 4.

I was very relax the night before, I usually have anxiety or couldn’t sleep. For this event I wasn’t nervous at all which is amazing. I was so confident and happy and looking forward to participate. I arrange everything at night so in the morning I can get ready fast and everything is on hand. I wakeup early took my time… relax. Since I start driving there I notice that start raining I was like this is going to be a rainy run which is not bad but it was a little cold so it will be interesting. I get there and the rain doesn’t stop so this is it. The welcoming to the runner was very different during this run and very particular.

This event was a run to Honor the Veterans. They talk about different topics, they pray, and they also mention everyone serving and currently deploy. It was a little to emotional for that early but I felt grateful that they do that, that they take time and honor those that risk they life for our freedom. It was amazing. I went with amore (husband) and my baby. My husband ran faster than me so he took the baby on the stroller. Let me tell you the baby had a blast during the run. I was nice having my family there waiting on the finish line.

But before getting there let’s talk about DURING the run. I was so positive and smily all the time. (this was a goal of mine. Be more cheerful and It went well and it felt amazing.) This run was very different from the other two 5k this year. Rain and HILLS yep you read that right. Hills which I haven’t run in one since I move here a year ago. At first I was like very worried about the hills but in the process I felt like “I can do this” and I did it. i finish the 5k non-stopping again YESSS!!! I did a good time also perhaps th rain and the hills. Is not a pr or pb but it was AMAZING and I enjoy it. That the key, enjoy what you do, and do it with your heart.

Life Update:

Two days after the 5k event I was at home. It was early when I start feeling a sharp and intense pain in the flank side on the right. It felt awful and it didn’t go away. So I call to make a appoitment with my primary doctor. It didn’t work he was busy so they recommend the urgent care. So I went there and they sent my to the hospital because it maybe something more serious and it was. I went to the the hospital, they took differents test, also a ct scan to know what the hell I have. They came with the results long hours later telling me that I have a kidney infection and a kidney stone. (Nothing new for me, but the pain is very serious.) They send me home… few days later I visit them again because the pain medication wasn’t helping at all. It was horrible and felt very misarable. They gave me something stronger that work but this took two weeks to me start recovering from the infection and the stone that was on the way. ( Thanks God this kidney stone wasn’t stuck , which I had in the past  and is not fun. I wrote about it in the past.)

To many doctor appointments later.

Feeling grateful I finally feel better and myself again.

The doctor gave me green light to start running so  I start December with a run 1.00mi.

It felt nice not running for a while but I miss it. Now I’m not training for any event in the near future. I will run just for fun.

When no body understand why you run!

Hi!

Here some words that I want to express and internally work within my soul.

When no body understand why you run!

They don’t understand why I love running.

What run did and do for me.

Running is my passion.

Running is my distraction.

Running is my peaceful place.

Running is my alone time.

Running is Me.

Running is more than a run for me.

Running is my motivation to keep going strong and achieve what I want in life.

Right now, running  is just that.

Running is something hard to explain to others. Thing that you need to start avoiding if “others” don’t come with positive thoughts about this topic from now on. (note  to myself )

Running is something that if you not experience for yourself, you will never know how it make you feel.

I’m running because I can prove myself that I’m good enough to set a goal and make it happen.

Running makes me a person who is determined to accomplish an objective.

Yes, just a word and an action with three letters RUN.

Running and Meditation

Hi!

(Personal)

Today I going to write about running and meditation.

Why?  I have been expericience some signs of anxiety. It recently develop more since we moved to this new state where everything is new, different and very unusual for our lifestyle.

In 2014 when I had my baby I thought it was depression post partum but it when off. I started at that moment taking yoga classes and meditation, and it help me a lot to handle that issue.

Recently I started to run again since I decided that this is my moment for me, for me , and for me. So I’m thinking if I add to my life a little bit of meditation It could help. Before it work I hope this time too. I need it.

I recently decided to take this step that I have been procastinating for so long but I haven’t the courage to open about it. And now is the time. I know I’m not alone.

I have been suffering anxiety

It took me a long time to talk about this because it hard to accept that something is happening to me. In the moment that I accepted it, I felt a little free.

So I’m considerating add this practice to my routine. Do you meditate?

Today is April 2, 2017.

I ran 0.50mi This run was very peaceful and very quiet. I thank God for this run today.

Yesterday April 1, 2017.

I ran 0.50mi. This  run turns into a dark place when someone decided to be a bully and scream something that I’m not allow myself to repeat because I’m a better person. I’m a good person, that kind of person, if you need me, I will be there for you to help you stand up. I learn that if you cancel the negative, That thought goes away so that was what I did it today and that’s why my run was a succesful one.

Sorry if this is not what you want to read. This is my life and I write about my life.

This is the Diary of C.P.

Thanks for Visiting

C.P.

PS: I’m deciding if I post this or not… It’s hard to let’s others know this part of me. but I you see it is because I decide to keep it up real.

Peace and Love C.P

Hi!

Today was a good day. The race today felt great. My mood is happy so I think it influenced.

What I do?

  • Basic stretch
  • 25 sit ups (military style)
  • 5 push up
  • 30sec plank
  • 3 sets – 10pounds weight – 15 repetitions (biceps and triceps)
  • 3 sets of 20 repetitions (squats)
  • 2 sets of 20 repetitions (Donkey kick) per leg
  • 2 sets of 20 rept. (Front lunges)
  • 2 sets of 20 rept. (Side lunges)
  • 20 rept. (Hip Brigde)
  • 20 rept. (Overhead arm clap)

Now for Today June 24, 2013. #RUN

  • Distance: 2.00miles
  • Time: 23:53min
  • Pace: 11’54″/mi
  • Calories burn 249
  • Temp: 73 degrees F.

Let me tell you today I feel like a winner. I’m so happy that was felt good to run today. While running the wind felt like a good helper to my breathing, and in no time I had a problem with it. A good news for today’s run is that I do not stop at any time to take a few steps, and that’s Amazing!

Note: Today I finally pass to orange level on my Nike + running app.
