3 changes in 3 months

Hi

This year I changed a lot of things in my life. But there are three main changes that are the reason I feel I’m working on becoming the better version of myself. I change my diet, yes only have been three months and almost a week working on my new lifestyle (keto diet) but so far is working wonderful. I have lost weight, I feel that my health have been improved since I decided to take more care of myself. The second change is that I stop drinking any type of alcohol drink. Not that I was drinking a lot but here and there like 2 or 3 times at month a beer or a cocktail. So for me wasn’t that complicated and I feel I don’t need it anymore to live a better life. That wasn’t a goal like quitting all but as part of the new diet it is a plus so “two birds kill in one shot”. The third change that I made was to let my real and natural hair breath without any heating tools like (flat-iron, hair dryer and curling iron). I also tried the Curly girl method to improve the quality of my hair curls. It was an amazing experience. Made me my love more my hair, and take a better care of it. I hope to continue with this amazing change because my hair is like part of my roots and a good reminder of it.

In general this 3 things have been the most amazing experience in a long time. I’m going to continue this journey of my new lifestyle that I have been loving.

I’m very proud of myself for taking the first step to make changes into my life.

My goal is to keep going!

Ps: I started to run again!!!!!! &  I added the foam roller into my life!!!

Foam Roll change the game

Hi!

I want to share my recently discover, not that is a new item but is new to me. I had never though of getting one. But recently I had experience a lot of pain in my neck, my upper and lower back. So I give it a try. Let me tell you was the best decision I had made. It help me to stretch my back all along the way and neck, also with my legs after running. Yeah I have been running not that much but slowly getting there little by little back at it.

Okay back to the foam roller. Since I started using the foam roller I have been able to sleep better. So that is a WIN!

I really, 100% recommend it!

Thanks,

A month without running (life update/ race recap)

Hi!

Around here it may be more than a month without posting.

There’s a reason… (read down below)

3rd 5k of the year RECAP:

My third 5k running event was this past month. November 4.

I was very relax the night before, I usually have anxiety or couldn’t sleep. For this event I wasn’t nervous at all which is amazing. I was so confident and happy and looking forward to participate. I arrange everything at night so in the morning I can get ready fast and everything is on hand. I wakeup early took my time… relax. Since I start driving there I notice that start raining I was like this is going to be a rainy run which is not bad but it was a little cold so it will be interesting. I get there and the rain doesn’t stop so this is it. The welcoming to the runner was very different during this run and very particular.

This event was a run to Honor the Veterans. They talk about different topics, they pray, and they also mention everyone serving and currently deploy. It was a little to emotional for that early but I felt grateful that they do that, that they take time and honor those that risk they life for our freedom. It was amazing. I went with amore (husband) and my baby. My husband ran faster than me so he took the baby on the stroller. Let me tell you the baby had a blast during the run. I was nice having my family there waiting on the finish line.

But before getting there let’s talk about DURING the run. I was so positive and smily all the time. (this was a goal of mine. Be more cheerful and It went well and it felt amazing.) This run was very different from the other two 5k this year. Rain and HILLS yep you read that right. Hills which I haven’t run in one since I move here a year ago. At first I was like very worried about the hills but in the process I felt like “I can do this” and I did it. i finish the 5k non-stopping again YESSS!!! I did a good time also perhaps th rain and the hills. Is not a pr or pb but it was AMAZING and I enjoy it. That the key, enjoy what you do, and do it with your heart.

Life Update:

Two days after the 5k event I was at home. It was early when I start feeling a sharp and intense pain in the flank side on the right. It felt awful and it didn’t go away. So I call to make a appoitment with my primary doctor. It didn’t work he was busy so they recommend the urgent care. So I went there and they sent my to the hospital because it maybe something more serious and it was. I went to the the hospital, they took differents test, also a ct scan to know what the hell I have. They came with the results long hours later telling me that I have a kidney infection and a kidney stone. (Nothing new for me, but the pain is very serious.) They send me home… few days later I visit them again because the pain medication wasn’t helping at all. It was horrible and felt very misarable. They gave me something stronger that work but this took two weeks to me start recovering from the infection and the stone that was on the way. ( Thanks God this kidney stone wasn’t stuck , which I had in the past  and is not fun. I wrote about it in the past.)

To many doctor appointments later.

Feeling grateful I finally feel better and myself again.

The doctor gave me green light to start running so  I start December with a run 1.00mi.

It felt nice not running for a while but I miss it. Now I’m not training for any event in the near future. I will run just for fun.

My motivation today

Hi!

I still quiet doing some noise!!

This time is not the time to surrender!

My workout today was a good one, but the path to get there and do it, was a hard one. Today was a more or less kind of day. More for my mood than other thing. I think like 10 times how to start doing the workout of the day. I put my workout clothes, the sneakers… I put the music on but something was off. So I went on pinterest for an inspirational quotes and this one came across.

“Don’t stop when you’re tired. Stop when you’re DONE.”

There’s when it hit me, hit me hard. There’s when I stop and thought why I’m doing this. Then I start stretching and 30min later I was done, but I wanted to keep going but I knew is what good for the day. I did a kickboxing workout at home. It was fantastic, it felt so good. It was a good reminder that why I’m doing this.

I did 30 (10 x 3) push-ups!! DAMN, I was motivate. Is the first time in my life I did that amount of push-ups.

So with this kind of days when you struggles to start doing your workout and need some motivation search for something inspirational. It help me a lot this time.

I’m not running anymore! (raw)

Hi…

This post is going to be RAW and REAL/ Unedited

I just want to write a little bit about what is happening to me. You know I keep this blog as my journey for running and more stuff. But I haven’t post anything is so long. Also I’m tired of making excuses every post I made about why I’m not running but I wanted to keep it real, this is my real life. Btw… sorry for the dramatic tittle…

Let start!

I movedto this new state here in United States that so far so good. It was a little bit of the stuggle to keep motivated for me and there is many reason that I prefer to keep private but that is not a big deal for me. I’m not putting my problems first, I’m going to put myself first. Yep maybe sound or in this case read a little bit selfish, but if I don’t do it for me how then?

I have gained so much weight since I have the baby that now I’m in my heaviest. (Something that I’m not proud to write) but as I told you I’m going to keep it real. I have try many time to running again since I had my baby girl, but I don’t know Why is so hard to keep going with the motivation, time manage, the house, the baby, the husband. and some people said the house mom is not a work. I work more than 12 hours a day sometimes even more. but let that be another post. I’m not here write about this. I feel like I’m wtiting with someone. It feel so good to have a little time to express myself right now.

Recently I went to my husband work Christmas party. They took family pictures and then print it so we can keep the memory. It was good and fine to me. But there is when I realize I don’t feel comfortable with me, with my skin. I saw the photo, make up on point, good election of clothes, hair on point, even the pose. And there came the but, But my body is not the same, is not what I want. I know that I will never go back to the pre pregnacy weight but DAMN this what a reality check even my family notice. I don’t really care what other think but I knew this is not what I want to look like. Not for somebody, is for me. I always been very activate in sports and I love it but when you lack some motivation is bad you make excuses, a lot of the time to avoid reality.

So the title I’m not running anymore is not forever, but for know I might be concentrating myself to a better diet, eating healthy and doing someting with no so much impact that I might end quiting. Because I know it as a fact.

So this is Raw here:

I have a kidney problems the doctor don’t recommend to drink soda . So I quit drinking soda in 2012 but recently I have been like a crazy craving soda woman, And this is bad fo me. I know it but sometimes I’m not that strong. There is my first Goal. No more soda.

I have a hypothyroidism. Thyroid problem since 2010. I have to keep taking medication and also mantin a diet because this cause a hormonal thing that happen to me with this condition is making me gained wait. Also I’m taking birth control pill that add to my issue too. ( I try to change but the other methods doesn’t work for me). So there is my second Goal Keep taking my medications and have a better diet.

I need to change they way I have been taking care of myself.

I also want to start making exercises 2 to 3 days at week. Something with low impact. ( if you had any recommendation please leave it down in the comment section.)

Thanks for visiting

PS: Sorry for the long post about me but this is real. Also sorry for the grammatic errors or sentence organization. English is not my first language. I also used the blog to practice my writing skills and my husband is not home for helping me with it. so there you have it!

Let’s go back in shape!

30 days Yoga challenge November 2014 #day3

30 days Yoga challenge November 2014

Hi Everyone!

I know I have been missing in action for the few past months. This new life with a baby is a little bit busy, but I’m still running few days at week and I’m also trying to add to my fitness routine a little bit of yoga. I’m starting like a beginner like the first time I heard about the pose or the name of it. Is a little bit hard but at the same time is interesting. I love to learn everyday something new; is important to me to keep doing exercise for my health, for my body, and for ME.

So now I’m doing the 30 days Yoga challenge for November 2014.

This is a personal challenge, to encourage my self to keep my fitness journey alive.

Today 11/03/2014 is my 3rd day of the challenge.

My progress and My Dares:

P: Improve my stability

D: Keep my balance

P: Time Duration

D: Keep the pose

I would like to post about this challenge more often to keep you updated.  Hope I have my time organize, so I can write about it.

I want to invite you to start a yoga journey like me!!!

Thanks
