2021 Start with great news!

Good News! I’m #teamnuun2021
The year started with an amazing opportunity to be a 2021 Nuun Ambassador! I’m excited for this new chapter in my running journey and to be part of my favorite hydration brand is a plus.

I couldn’t believe it when I saw the email saying I was selected to participate with the brand. On November last year, I saw that they had a opening to be an ambassador and I filled out the form. I just took a risk that I had never thought of doing. I’m so glad that I took the chance and I went for it.

I want to let you know that I’m still very active on Instagram @catherine_run1 I have been posting about my running journey there. I write about what is happening with every run and the accomplishments and the not so fun stuff.

I’m thinking as part of my goals for 2021 is adding my first 10 miler run for this year.

Tell me about your goals for this 2021!!!

My actual Running Essentials 2019

Hi!

In this post, I will write about my running essentials. The items I used every time I go for a run. Also, I will mention what I bring when I run with the stroller and the best company ever, and some details about the post-run. These items, I use them and want to share it because is very important to me.

I hope this post is helpful to the readers.

Running Essentials 2019

1- Hat

I used NikeCourt AeroBill Featherlight in color black. Easy to use, easy to set, lightweight, easy to clean, and perfect for airflow.

2- Sunglasses

I use the brand Goodr model NESSY’S MIDNIGHT ORGY is like aqua color. They are lightweight, don’t bounce, don’t slide, they protect your eye, something that is very important for me.

3-Headphones

I use AfterShokz Air I start using them in June 2019. Since then I never left the house without them. This headphone had a technology that sounds travel via bone conduction. I love them and when I run I can hear everything around me and still listen to music is amazing. Don’t bounce and Don’t slide. Easy to set up and charge.

4-Watch

I use Forerunner® 630 but is discontinued but I still recommend the brand so this model is very similar to Forerunner® 235.

This watch for me is key and very important it let me know the time, pace, distance. I can answer or ignore calls, I can put music and manage the volume, the days I don’t run I used it like my step counter, etc… And all the data goes to the app on my cellphone.

5-Bag

I used The Original SPIbelt is where I put my cellphone when I go in a solo run. Very comfortable, easy to adjust and use.

6-Compression Socks

I used the brand Zensah model mini crew. They give me arch support, no sweaty feet, no blisters, help with blood circulation. Also, they have a wide seamless toe box. They are very comfortable. I wash them in the washing machine on delicate and dry it on a drying rack. (Do not use the dryer, it would shrink the sock making them useless.)

Post-Run What I use:

-Water

– –Nuun electrolytes tablets  Tropical Flavor

-Foam Rolling – Gaiam Restore Muscle Therapy 18″ Foam Roller This is amazing for a stretch before and after a run. This item has helped me with the sore muscles

-GoFit Massage Polar Roller – Cold Rolling Ball

What I bring when I run with the Stroller:

-Extra water

-Snacks for my mini partner

-Toys / Leap pad

– If the weather is cold outside a blanket

Note: This post is not sponsored, any of the brands mention above are not paying me to make this post. This is not an AD. I do not receive any commission for the links provided in the post.

Keep Running C.P.

Hi!

Today is one of those days that anxiety give me a hard time in so many levels. So I decided to go for a run. It was a struggle getting ready. It was should I go or not. I finally got ready and when for the run with my baby and the stroller. I ran in a slow pace than normal but I ran almost non stopping wish is my goal. I stop two-time in 1.66mi. In the middle on the run I check my progress on the app I use and it was pause. I was like damn I’m in 1.05mi already what the heck. The app stop in 0.51mi. What I did… I just keep running. My mind was set and nothing can stop me. Todays goal was a recovery run 1.25mi. Which I did and a little more. The mind is powerful. Never let anything or anybody stop you for what you want. Today was a hard day but I started it with the run. Some rocks during the day but It not gonna end bad. because the mind is powerful. I just want to attract positive vibes. Remove all the bad and turn the page. What is in the past, stay in the past. Live the present and enjoy it.

Today I also decided to watch a running documentary on netflix: From fat to the finish line. It was so inspiring I was almost ready to go for a run. I didn’t so tomorrow that’s the plan. I 100% Recommend it. If you are struggling with loosing weight like I am. Watch it. It feel like impossible is possible. Like a light in the end of the tunnel. It make me think if they can, I CAN. JUST KEEP RUNNING C.P.

NOTE:

I also want to take advantage of this post and write THANKS for all the new followers. I never thought in a million year I would reach 200 and counting. Is amazing THANKS again!

Too good that I need to share!

(short)

Hi!

Recently I have started to practice kickboxing. When I don’t run, I do some type of exercise at home, that can vary.

Today I wasn’t in the mood to run so I decided to search a video workout of kickboxing for beginners. This video came across and I did it and I LOVE IT! It was 25 min in a good pace and easy to follow. Also straight to the point. That’s important to me because I can’t give the opportunity of the doubt came across my mind when I have the objective to do a workout.

It felt so great to use that video for my workout today. That’s why I want to share it!

My motivation strategy

Hi!

I wanted to write about this theme for so long. Because finding motivation to run or just to be active is hard for me. I have been working hard. I wanted to find a reason to do what I want to do. I wanted to find the stimulation and inspiration to move. I wanted to do it myself. And that’s what I did.

My motivation strategy

Starting with:

Setting a Goal:

This is the vision that I have in life. I need to compromise to what I set and make it happen.

Photos:

Those throwback photos when you look your best and your worst. This one hit me hard sometimes. Is hard for me to see those photos and realize that I have been there before, so that is the inspiration to step out of your comfort zone and change what it need to be change.

Videos:

This one I experience it recently. Yesterday for my run I was trying to look for excuses to not run. So I stopped myself and search a video in youtube. To find something inspiring. There was not one, not two ; there was more than I can imagine to see. Just for that reason I went for a run.

Quotes:

This one is the most I use. I can say that I’m a collector of motivational running quotes.  Those sentences and phrases give me the push that I need in the moment I search for it. Try it!!

Reading:

In all my life I haven’t read like I’m reading these days. I read more about romance, but recently someone gave me the idea to read about running. So that is what I’m doing. Reading blogs, magazines and books.

Follow the inspiration:

There is a lot of platforms to follow other people. Follow that runner, that sport, that team. etc… They help you, believe me. When I saw those photos for example in instagram about the pace, the distance and the time. Is a good boost of passion that blow into my veins. I don’t know how to explain it. Hope you understand me.

Write down a log:

Sometimes I use this platform to keep those memories about the journey I’m having. I also found an other good way to stay motivate and is via calendar. Yep a calendar. I write down the miles, when I run, when I rest or do any cardio..etc

Music:

Just listening the rhythm then feel it in your soul. And GO!

Question: What is your motivation stragety?
