I thought I was going to be exhausted when I finished the challenge but no that wasn’t the case. Right now I feel very motivate to keep going, I will be doing this during the rest of the month of February. I’m trying to work my endurance and I see the difference. I tolerate more. I’m not tired mid run or mid walk.

I forgot to post about my January Miles but I will take advantage of this post to let you know!

I ran 36.99mi

I walked 6.96mi

Thanks

7 Miles

I recently went on an adventure to add more miles in to the month of January. I had run/walk 7.06 miles. This is my longest and farthest so far this year 2021.

Distance: 7.06mi

Duration: 1:56:47

Pace: 16’32”

This time and pace is not what I want it. Is not what I used to do before. I need to stop being hard on myself for not running as fast or in the pace I was. This is a new year, a new me. Taking every step to run more miles not matter if I need to walk during my run. I want to work on my endurance. I know I’m capable so I will keep training for it. To achieve what I want.

I still more active on Instagram @catherine_run1

Thanks

Catherine

First 10k event recap

HI!!!

Today I did my first 10k event.

It was an amazing experience running with 4,200 women. I was so nervous and excited to achieve this goal that I couldn’t sleep well but when I woke up my energy was 100%.  I’m so glad that with a short time to train I put myself the goal of doing it and I accomplished it with a best personal record [PR =personal record of -5min and 9 seconds].

One mile

Hi! (short)

I want to celebrate that I finally ran 1.01mi non-stop and pain free. Yes… I’m so happy for this achivement. That injury took longer that I expected to recover but the wait worth it.

Patient is the key.

In another post I’m going to write about the stuff I did to recover.

Go RUN!

Hi!

This is a short post…

This week had been a little busy, crazy and a lot going on…which is good! I still doing my runs in the days I can. On Friday I needed to run, I had one of those days that I need me time, clear my mind, and just be relaxed. My method is RUNNING! On Friday it didn’t happen. So on Saturday I woke up, put on my running clothes and when for a run. In this run a lot happen. I was very committed to run non-stopping and I was focus. You know the mind is powerful.  I ran 1.70mi non-stopping which It never happen before and I have been running short distance since 2013. I stopped for a while and this year 2017 I started again at it. This happen because I was determined that this was the goal, this is what I want. So Is happening!  I completed a 2.75mi. run. It felt and still feels good that I achieve this. This is just the beginning, I’m going for more!!!

My motivation strategy

Hi!

I wanted to write about this theme for so long. Because finding motivation to run or just to be active is hard for me. I have been working hard. I wanted to find a reason to do what I want to do. I wanted to find the stimulation and inspiration to move. I wanted to do it myself. And that’s what I did.

My motivation strategy

Starting with:

Setting a Goal:

This is the vision that I have in life. I need to compromise to what I set and make it happen.

Photos:

Those throwback photos when you look your best and your worst. This one hit me hard sometimes. Is hard for me to see those photos and realize that I have been there before, so that is the inspiration to step out of your comfort zone and change what it need to be change.

Videos:

This one I experience it recently. Yesterday for my run I was trying to look for excuses to not run. So I stopped myself and search a video in youtube. To find something inspiring. There was not one, not two ; there was more than I can imagine to see. Just for that reason I went for a run.

Quotes:

This one is the most I use. I can say that I’m a collector of motivational running quotes.  Those sentences and phrases give me the push that I need in the moment I search for it. Try it!!

Reading:

In all my life I haven’t read like I’m reading these days. I read more about romance, but recently someone gave me the idea to read about running. So that is what I’m doing. Reading blogs, magazines and books.

Follow the inspiration:

There is a lot of platforms to follow other people. Follow that runner, that sport, that team. etc… They help you, believe me. When I saw those photos for example in instagram about the pace, the distance and the time. Is a good boost of passion that blow into my veins. I don’t know how to explain it. Hope you understand me.

Write down a log:

Sometimes I use this platform to keep those memories about the journey I’m having. I also found an other good way to stay motivate and is via calendar. Yep a calendar. I write down the miles, when I run, when I rest or do any cardio..etc

Music:

Just listening the rhythm then feel it in your soul. And GO!

Question: What is your motivation stragety?

June 16, 2013. Father’s Day Run + Work!

Hi!…

Happy Father’s Day!

Today was a great day. My father is in Puerto Rico, I didn’t spend this day with him; so sad but I “facetime” with him.

I went to help my amore in to his work to organize few equipments. We spent 5hrs doing everything non-stopping. I was tired, my feets ached, but I get home I went to run which was my plan for Sunday. I can not stop or skip days from my training. This is the most important thing for me now. Also I think is the first time in my life that I compromised in something. Is a goal that I going to accomplish! oh yeah! It feel so good, doing something that you want, that makes you feel free. I love RUN, since I started this, I feel different, I feel productive, active, etc…

Today Sunday June 16, 2013.

2.00mi – 25:39min – pace 12’46”/mi (OH my God Slowwww) – 83F degrees

Fun Fact: While running on path passes through houses with families celebrating together, the interesting fact here is that the smell of the barbecue had invaded the area from start to finish. Yummy! Hehe!
