30 days Yoga challenge November 2014
I know I have been missing in action for the few past months. This new life with a baby is a little bit busy, but I’m still running few days at week and I’m also trying to add to my fitness routine a little bit of yoga. I’m starting like a beginner like the first time I heard about the pose or the name of it. Is a little bit hard but at the same time is interesting. I love to learn everyday something new; is important to me to keep doing exercise for my health, for my body, and for ME.
So now I’m doing the 30 days Yoga challenge for November 2014.
This is a personal challenge, to encourage my self to keep my fitness journey alive.
Today 11/03/2014 is my 3rd day of the challenge.
My progress and My Dares:
P: Improve my stability
D: Keep my balance
P: Time Duration
D: Keep the pose
I would like to post about this challenge more often to keep you updated. Hope I have my time organize, so I can write about it.
I want to invite you to start a yoga journey like me!!!
I’m happy to be back on track with my blog.
I may not write for a while about running. I need to wait around 2 months to start again my running journey.
I’m wondering if I can start writing reviews about different stuff like (makeup, food, places, etc…)
I know I describe this blog like my journal; I think this part of my life; is a nice idea to invest time on it.
I may not have the same time like in the past, but I going have different kind of themes to talk if I change I little bit the blog main interest for a minute and then continue writing about my runs.
Very important… I’m not trying to focusing in other things in this blog. I just want to incorporate others things that is part of my interests.
I participated in my very real first 5k event on July 20, 2013. The Event was the 5k Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk in the midwest. Around 4,000 participants registered for this event. This was the event that I trained so hard and let me tell you, that was sucessful, I feel like I can not be more than greatful for my friends and my husband for motivated me to do it.
Is amazing when you have a goal, you work (trained) for it and you make it. I’m so happy and I know this is just the beginning of my journeys for different running events. I don’t going to stop here. This event prove me that I can do what I want to. RUN!
I beat personal record that was so amazing!
I made it to the finish line in 40:40.64min
From my age group: 351/540
Female group: 1063/2070
Place over all: 1957/4000
On July 6, 2013. for the first time I participated in a fun run 5k event. To start, We drove 3hrs to get there, somewhere in the Midwest. When we got there went to register because this 5k event wasn’t plan; also to get a towel, the t-shirt and the number. The race start at 10:00am I was so excited for this experience; everything start at the beginning I felt I was going very fast then my breathing was a little bit harder so I reduce my pace to ran in a comfort one. Everything went fine; I finished it in 42:00min. The weather wasn’t the best, was very hot almost 90 degrees.
Was a great experience… I’m so happy to down done one of my goals.
I ran 3.13 miles non-stopping in 39:51 minutes with 12’43″/mi avg pace. I ran in the middle of the drizzle that was fun. This run included: Pavement, sidewalk, stair, grass, a hill, and beach view. Was a great run, it feel so awesome changing the area. I like the fresh air in the area, see a new people and have another experience in my running. For the most part of this run everything feel great: my feet, my knees, my legs and my breath was fine. That’s a good sign and I’m so happy.
This Training July start succesfully. Only 18 days left for my first 5k.

Today was a sucessful and nice run for finish this amazing training month.

I’m in the hunt for new running shoes.

I always used Nike, but this time I want to explore and trying something new. That may be change my performance and gave me a new experience when I’m out running.
My running shoes:
- Nike Lunarglide 2: I used them for a few runs but now I only use them when I’m doing my workout at home or to going to a game.
- Nike training Nike Free fit 2: My actual running shoes. I like this kind a sneakers because the fit on my feet are amazing. the only thing that worry me is that the sole is slim and when I run more than 2.00 miles my feet start to getting numb in the front part. I don’t know! If the slim sole that helps me to grab the pavement well, is affecting me for not having a good cushioning at the moment my feet impact the pavement.
(Saucony, Mizuno, Asics (I already try them), Brooks, New Balance or Nike)

Today I finally ran 3.02miles. I feel so excited that all the hard work is paying off. Results are given, when you train hard and commit to a goal. Oh YEAH!
I need to keep in track with my training. Now is time to keep running the 3.00 and next week add the next 0.10mile to reach my goal for the 5k.
Check it out the (Goal page here)
- Distance: 3.02mi
- Time & Pace:
- 11:59 11’59″/mi avg pace
- 25:28 13’29″/mi avg pace
- 39:19 13’51″/mi avg pace
- At the end of the path, my feet begin to numb. Was a rare experience, but when I stop running. My feet had a recovery immediately.
Today the weather in my area during the morning was raining like crazy. In the afternoon the lovely sun came out raising the temperature. Until the night that finally got to a good temperature. So decided to run but this time at the gym because was almost 8:00pm. I start running in the treadmill. I was doing fine since the treadmill stop. I almost fell. I didn’t expect that.
When I check my phone to verify the distance I was only in 0.39mi in 3:56min. I try to start again I set the treadmill and ran for few minutes so I check my phone again and the app stay on 0.39mi but this time was 6:58min. I was like “what the hell” is happening. So I decided to run in the pavement since the treadmill and the app don’t work well together. And I want a record in my profile. So I get out of the gym and start running I was so happy because it feel so good and I run 1.07mi in 12:38min / pace 11’46″/mi.
Also when I get home I did some workout too, (5 pushups & 25 sit up ‘military style’).
This image is just for the pavement run because the treadmill run was a fail.
