First 10k event recap

HI!!!

Today I did my first 10k event.

It was an amazing experience running with 4,200 women. I was so nervous and excited to achieve this goal that I couldn’t sleep well but when I woke up my energy was 100%.  I’m so glad that with a short time to train I put myself the goal of doing it and I accomplished it with a best personal record [PR =personal record of -5min and 9 seconds].

3 changes in 3 months

Hi

This year I changed a lot of things in my life. But there are three main changes that are the reason I feel I’m working on becoming the better version of myself. I change my diet, yes only have been three months and almost a week working on my new lifestyle (keto diet) but so far is working wonderful. I have lost weight, I feel that my health have been improved since I decided to take more care of myself. The second change is that I stop drinking any type of alcohol drink. Not that I was drinking a lot but here and there like 2 or 3 times at month a beer or a cocktail. So for me wasn’t that complicated and I feel I don’t need it anymore to live a better life. That wasn’t a goal like quitting all but as part of the new diet it is a plus so “two birds kill in one shot”. The third change that I made was to let my real and natural hair breath without any heating tools like (flat-iron, hair dryer and curling iron). I also tried the Curly girl method to improve the quality of my hair curls. It was an amazing experience. Made me my love more my hair, and take a better care of it. I hope to continue with this amazing change because my hair is like part of my roots and a good reminder of it.

In general this 3 things have been the most amazing experience in a long time. I’m going to continue this journey of my new lifestyle that I have been loving.

I’m very proud of myself for taking the first step to make changes into my life.

My goal is to keep going!

Ps: I started to run again!!!!!! &  I added the foam roller into my life!!!

Foam Roll change the game

Hi!

I want to share my recently discover, not that is a new item but is new to me. I had never though of getting one. But recently I had experience a lot of pain in my neck, my upper and lower back. So I give it a try. Let me tell you was the best decision I had made. It help me to stretch my back all along the way and neck, also with my legs after running. Yeah I have been running not that much but slowly getting there little by little back at it.

Okay back to the foam roller. Since I started using the foam roller I have been able to sleep better. So that is a WIN!

I really, 100% recommend it!

Thanks,

C.P.

You lose and you win

I have lost myself and I have a pep talk with my soul. I have been letting my younger years wasting my time and letting myself go, so far that my health has been an issue. I need to do something this time just for me.  So I’m in the process right now but I put in the work goals that I want to achieve. Losing myself to find my real self was a challenge but I did so I win.

Thanks

One mile

Hi! (short)

I want to celebrate that I finally ran 1.01mi non-stop and pain free. Yes… I’m so happy for this achivement. That injury took longer that I expected to recover but the wait worth it.

Patient is the key.

In another post I’m going to write about the stuff I did to recover.

Zero pain here we go!

Hi! (short)

Today I ran 0.51mi again and it felt amazing. Zero pain and 100% happiness. Patient is and was the key in my recovery. I’m taking baby steps and I’m not planning on hurry myself at all. I’m just adjusting to my new schelude and for now I can run only two days. But that’s fine…

I’m testing myself, trying to find a pace, my pace.

I just want to say that running is something else in my life. Is my peace. (read more in a post I dedicated to run CLICK HERE)

My goals for now:

-Drink more water

-Run 2 days per week

-low carbs diet

I risk it (short)

Hi!

After 4 months in recovery. For a twisted ankle that left with 3 swollen ligaments and effusion in the area just for a bad landing playing volleyball. Today I finally ran without any pain. This took a lot of patient of me. I felt very frustrated that it took so long. This run felt amazing it was just 0.51mi… But without pain this is goals. Recovery is important. I’m not sure if I can still play volleyball again yet but I’m sure that for running this is just the beginning. Back at it. I know is going to take time but I so happy and grateful be back slow and short pace and distance but for sure is more that stay at home with a brace and a elevated leg almost all day during long days, weeks and months…
